Europe's largest fast-charging station for electric trucks
Europe’s largest fast-charging station for electric trucks was inaugurated in June 2024 by Hugelshofer Logistik AG in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Known as “Truckport,” the site includes 14 high-speed charging stations with a total capacity of 5 megawatts, capable of simultaneously charging 28 electric trucks. It is powered by over 2,300 photovoltaic panels, which generate over 1 million kilowatt-hours of solar energy annually to directly power the trucks. This project is a key initiative for decarbonizing freight transport, and the charging facilities are also available to external users.
